Welcome to the first instalment of ‘Ask Charla′! We had a great response to our call for questions to answer for you, and I am delighted to provide them. Let′s get down to it and talk about this week′s question:
You′re probably already aware of the influence that your birthday has on your personality. You may already be familiar with your Sun sign, Moon sign or even your rising sign. However, what you might not have considered is that your name has a huge impact on your life and the way that people perceive you, too.
Can you imagine Oprah Winfrey being named Kylie Smith, or Donald Trump being called Declan Winchester? No way! They just don′t fit, do they? That′s because the vibration of your name actually helps to make up a lot of your personality. That goes for the name you were given when you were born, as well as your nicknames!
One way of analyzing the influence of your name in your life is to use numerology. Numerology uses your date of birth, but it also converts your name into numbers to analyze, too. Just like the signs of the zodiac, there are strengths and weaknesses for each number. Knowing how they apply to your life helps you to improve your circumstances, and even who you are!
Do you have a nickname, or a shortened version of your name? There are many reasons this could happen. Maybe your name is Edward Robert Sullivan, but your dad also has that name; he goes by ‘Sully,′ and you go by ‘Eddie.′ In some instances, people get stuck with a childhood nickname, like ‘Red′ if you had red hair, or ‘Junior′ if you were the youngest child. Numerology takes this into account.
In a numerology reading, you have an open personality number which is based on your full given name, and you also have a hidden personality number, which is based on your nickname. It stands to reason that, when you meet someone, you don′t want them to immediately know everything about you.
That′s why they might call you ‘Edward′ until they get to know you better, and you invite them to call you, ‘Eddy.′ In some cases, these two numbers are the same, but sometimes they are different. A numerology reading will help you to determine your personality numbers.
Sometimes it suits your purpose to go by a different name for professional purposes. Look at Elton John (Reginald Dwight), Tina Turner (Anna Mae Bullock), Vin Diesel (Mark Sinclair Vincent), or even John Wayne (Marion Robert Morrison). We call Debbie Harry ‘Blondie,′ we know Cherilyn Sarkisian as ‘Cher,′ Stefani Germanotta is ‘Lady Gaga′, and Dwayne Johnson goes by the ‘The Rock.′
These are celebrities who are known by professional ‘stage′ names. They change their name to create an image, because changing your name like this also changes your numerological vibration, and that′s why there are personality numbers and inner personality numbers.
It′s imperative that you analyze the numerology of your new name to ensure that it not only sounds good and looks good, but it resonates with the energy that you want to portray. Once you′ve found what you like, it might need a bit of tweaking in order to take you where you want to go. This is a big decision, and shouldn′t be taken lightly!
