Person doing a third eye and crown chakra meditation.

We talk about the chakras a lot - because keeping these invisible spinning energy wheels healthy is an important component of your spiritual and emotional journey!

When one of your 7 chakras is out of whack, it’s our cue from the Universe that we are veering from our path. This is why it is so important to have healthy and balanced chakras, because by doing so, we stay on our destined course.

We also know astrology charts our destined course for us, with a different chart for every lifetime. We actually can use chakras and astrology together to ensure we stay on our own individual destined course - and you absolutely can use chakra healing during upcoming astrological transits to maximize your true potential and manifest your destiny.

With the New Moon in Aries coming up April 5th, let’s take a look at how you can harness its power to heal your Third Eye and Crown chakras via meditation to feel more confident about the direction you need to head in to fulfill your goals and vision!

The Connection Between Chakras & Astrology

A lot of people think chakras and astrology are not really connected. They are, but they aren’t. It’s kind of hard to explain. Saying chakra work and astrology work is not connected is like saying a wrench and a ruler aren’t connected. They are, but they aren’t. You may do something in your daily life that requires either one, but once in a while you need to use both. What they have in common then is that they’re both tools. One may work better than the other on certain things, and vice versa.

Chakra and astrology work the same way. Sometimes you just do chakra healing, while at other points, you study your chart and make decisions. Sometimes you do chakra healing under certain astrological transits, like an eclipse or Full Moon to accomplish a certain goal or project. Here is the connection between chakras and astrology!

Look at your life as your most important and ongoing project. In order to complete that project to its fullest potential, you’ll need some tools for when you need some guidance. Two of the tools we are talking about today are chakra healing and astrology.

Chakra Healing

New Moons are a hopeful time - a time of new beginnings, after all. It could mark an opportunity to start a new routine or to hit the reset button. Many astrologers refer to it as a time to plant the seeds for something you want to work on.

When it comes to healing what’s been broken or blocked as with our chakras, a New Moon can provide the optimistic guidance you need to start fresh and move forward in a healthier way.
Accessing the eclipse portal is the easiest and fastest way to bring the information that keeps you on your path of destiny. This is when chakra healing and astrology work together in a really exciting way. All of 7 of your chakras are receptacles of information.

When every chakra is aligned, you’re receiving information from every Source you need in order for your soul to stay on your path of destiny.

Quiz: Which of Your Chakras Needs a Tune-Up?

Certain chakras work better at receiving information for you during the New Moon.

  • The Throat chakra will help you communicate and receive messages with authentic intent
  • The Heart chakra will help you feel your way through with love

Here’s where the Third Eye chakra and the Crown chakra will really take you by the hand and plunge you into the vision you’ll need to see what direction to head in.

  • The Third Eye chakra helps you see the destiny that lays before you
  • The Crown chakra helps you receive messages and communicate directly with the Divine about where you are on this magical path of Destiny

These experiences are enhanced during a New Moon, and through the experience of meditation, but how do you activate those Third Eye and Crown chakras to take that brave step into your future? We’re so glad you asked!

Meditating is very easy. You don’t need to be Deepak Chopra to meditate, or to have meditation work for you. Because information from the New Moon needs to be seen and heard, rather than actively manipulated by you, you need a quiet experience to activate that information - and to ensure it is very conducive to seeing and listening.

Despite what many gurus say, there is actually no wrong way to meditate. Some people find baking or cooking to bring them into their meditative state. I know someone who says her garden is her temple. Whatever puts you in a state that disconnects you from the clutter of the world, and allows you to only focus on the within, is your meditation too!

It may be gardening, cooking for your family, or just lying on the couch staring at the ceiling. The point is to find something you can do without focusing on any “thing” at all. When I’m baking for example, often I use recipes I’ve been using for years. It’s all on autopilot, the world around me disappears while I create something both externally, and internally. Some of my best inspirations have come in these moments when there are literally no distractions around me at all.

What is your meditation? You don’t have to be intimidated! Meditation does not require guru status or years of practice. You have your own quiet place too. When you figure out what that is, you too can use that power to activate your Third Eye and Crown chakras. Moon energy work is a little more intense than meditating while making shortbread, so here are some tips to help you get into the meditation zone!

1. Find the right colors

The Crown chakra is symbolized by the colors violet or white, and the Third Eye chakra by the color indigo. Having these colors around you, or wearing them as jewelry will help activate these chakras when you’re in meditation.

Candles of these colors are particularly useful because the light will attract the energy you want as well. Flowers, soaps, even a fuzzy violet blanket to rest on are all colorful things to help activate these chakras.

Look for: Sapphire, clear quartz, and amethyst.

2. Make it a scent-sual experience

Each chakra is connected to one of our physical senses, and even two more senses with the Third Eye chakra and the Crown chakra. This means that each of the 7 chakras is highly sensitive to scent therapy or aromatherapy.

Make your Crown chakra and Third eye chakra meditations a scent-sual experience. Focus on the colors of the chakras as well, and bring those two senses together.

Look for: Lavender, lilac, jasmine and sage are all beautiful scents to activate when working with the chakras in meditation.

3. Check your ego

The most important lesson you can learn in any season is that it’s not all about you. It is, but it isn’t. Remember, New Moons are about starting fresh, with intention, which is a great time for releasing and clearing.

This is a great time to stop doing things that have not worked for you in the past - and to know what they are, we must be able to take a good, hard look at ourselves and admit what we’ve done poorly. Leave your ego outside the door, and your Third Eye and Crown chakras will open nice and wide to bring that news in.

4. Love sweet love

The most powerful Third Eye and Crown chakra meditations you will have will come from a place of love - so don’t do your meditations when you’re in a bad mood! Or, do, but use the first few minutes to unwind and give those negative experiences back to your Higher Power. Then get into it!

5. Chakras, activate!

You are now in the place both visually and scent-sually and hopefully with the right mindset too, to enter your meditation.

  • Find a quiet place where you won’t be bothered, avoiding distractions. You can do it for five minutes or for an hour.
  • Focus on the colors, on the scents, and just clear your mind.
  • Start off by closing your eyes, and focus on first emptying your mind.

Emptying your mind is the hardest part. The easiest way to do this when meditating is to just focus on a color. Just inhale the lavender or sage that is burning, and think about that color.

With practice, it doesn’t take long for the information to come, but you must first empty your mind in order to receive it. When you do, your chakras open. Focus on that color and… wait for it. Let it flow and don’t fight it.

Anyone can practice meditation - sometimes you just need a boost of confidence and a few ideas on how to get started! New Moons are a powerful time to affect change in your life - and can really show you a new path if you open your mind, body and soul to receive the message.

Two of our powerful divination tools, chakras, and astrology, can work together during this powerful time to effectively hit the reset button and give us a fresh start!
