Your October 2023 Tarotscopes

If you thought last month was busy, you’re in for a wild ride for this one. Mercury (planet of communication and thought) will enter peacekeeping Libra on the 4th, Venus (planet of love and beauty) will enter Virgo on the 8th, and Pluto will finally go direct on the 10th (ending its long retrograde).

But hold on, because that’s only the first half of the month. We also have a solar eclipse in Libra on the 14th, Mercury eventually entering transformative Scorpio on the 22nd, and then Scorpio season itself taking off on the 23rd.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the new info? Don’t worry — you don’t need to organize a game plan just yet. First, check in with the Tarot (using one Major Arcana and one Minor Arcana each) to see the most important themes for your overall month.

Your October 2023 Tarotscope

Aries

The Devil (Reversed) & 2 of Wands (Reversed)

Aries is very seriously purging what no longer is needed in order to make bold new steps.

This month, The Devil reversed asks that you tackle all of your inner demons. What’s still lingering from the past? What nasty habits need to be addressed?

This is important work given that the 2 of Wands reversed hinders your ability to make headway in expanding outward (especially with regard to travel plans, new adventures, and entrepreneurial ideas).

Once you work through that old baggage, you’ll have a stronger grip on what’s holding you back in those areas.

Taurus

The Moon (Reversed) & 9 of Swords (Reversed)

Taurus needs to make peace with the unknown and is certainly doing its best in that regard.

The Moon reversed, and the 9 of Swords reversed asks you to put your anxieties to the side and focus on what’s real, tangible, and right in front of you. Life’s mysteries and illusions can be captivating, but it’s often much more essential to live in the moment when it finds you.

Rather than getting wrapped up in the “what ifs” and “could be’s,” this month is about learning to accept that you’re not meant to know all of the answers.

It’s not a fun truth… but sometimes it’s the best one that you can hold onto.

Gemini

The Chariot & Ace of Pentacles (Reversed)

Gemini has the right go-getter and productive spirit, but it won’t mesh with everything you want to get done.

The Chariot is a positive omen for your long-term vision and sense of self. This month, you’re connected with the general energy of success and longevity, which is great for pursuing the goals and dreams you’ve been aiming for.

However, the Ace of Pentacles reversed warns against trying to do anything new in the realm of career, finances, and the home. The material world isn’t shifting just yet, so now may be more of a planning phase, if anything.

And sometimes, that planning phase may be just what you need.

Cancer

The Magician (Reversed) & 8 of Cups (Reversed)

Cancer, if you aren’t feeling it, you don’t have to persevere just for the sake of it.

The Magician reversed points to burnout and ideas running dry. You may feel your energetic tank running on low more frequently this month, unsure of what your next steps should be.

The 8 of Cups reversed suggests that you may need to drop your current course of action and try something new but that you’re also feeling resistant to change.

Basically, this month, don’t force something if it isn’t there, whether it’s work, a passion project, or even a relationship.

Leo

Death (Reversed) & 6 of Pentacles

Leo — in order to change, you may need to give a few things away first.

Death reversed indicates that you’d like to change, but a lot of the internal transformations and identity shifts that you’re moving towards may be uncomfortable and involve risks or putting yourself out there in a more vulnerable way.

The 6 of Pentacles asks that you start this journey by giving. Invest with your time and resources, knowing that eventually, there will be a payoff down the line.

Do it because it feels good and aligned with the new version of yourself that you’d like to be, not necessarily because of the rewards later down the line.

Virgo

The Sun (Reversed) & 5 of Swords (Reversed)

Virgo is reconnecting with what “happiness” really means to them.

The Sun reversed clouds up your joy and self-awareness. This month, it may feel like everything that usually brightens your spirits is distant from you or just doesn’t have the same kick to it anymore.

The 5 of Swords reversed tempts you to the dark side but ultimately warns against falling into short-term gratification and cutting corners.

It may seem like you need to “get ahead” or take shortcuts in order to feel okay again, but remember — the sun always rises eventually, even after it sets.

Libra

The Lovers & 5 of Cups

Libra has an abundance of opportunity, love, and choices in front of them this month.

The Lovers offers these things and possibly even more, a beacon of lighthearted joy, love, and potentially romantic connection (for those who are seeking it).

However, the 5 of Cups makes it especially easy to fixate on what you don’t have instead of what you could have. “Lack mindset” is more prominent for you this month, and you’ll have to actively fight the urge to fall into pessimistic thinking.

If you stay vigilant of your thoughts and open-minded to the world around you, this month can be a fun one despite its challenges.

Scorpio

The Hierophant & King of Cups (Reversed)

Scorpio is learning more about themselves as they work under the systems that they’re bound to.

The King of Cups reversed complicates the heart, adding dissatisfaction and concerns over whether or not you feel control over your emotions into the mix. This is likely due to the sometimes-overbearing Hierophant, which spotlights the structures and traditional systems in place that surround you.

You may have complicated feelings about authority and who you’re working for right now, but this is also an opportunity to be more reflective about why things are the way they are.

And, of course, you can consider more deeply how you’d like to make a difference (and what it means for your happiness and heart to contribute meaningfully to the world around you).

Sagittarius

Strength (Reversed) & 2 of Cups

Sagittarius, this month’s motto is, “Two is better than one.”

While Strength reversed indicates that you may be feeling a bit out of sorts within your own mind, body, and spirit, the 2 of Cups hints that you may be able to find comfort in your relationships with others.

The key to success this month is not trying to do everything on your own and instead being open to the prospect of asking for help and enjoying the company of others.

While that emotional vulnerability may seem like a difficult hurdle at first, it’ll be worthwhile on the other side of it.

Capricorn

The Tower & 3 of Pentacles (Reversed)

Capricorn is dealing with a lot of big changes this month… and we’re about to give you a heads-up on where to look.

The Tower’s changes are indeed overarching. Some surprises are in store that will not be able to be predicted — basically, when The Tower bells ring, it’s best to brace yourself for anything.

One thing’s for certain, though. When it comes to projects and work that you share with others, the 3 of Pentacles reversed adds complications. Miscommunications are likely to be more frequent, and you may notice that others aren’t listening as well to what you’d like to contribute and add.

So, while you may need to brace yourself for anything, you can also know that it may be best to approach this month as a solo mission first and foremost.

Aquarius

The Hanged Man & 3 of Wands

Aquarius, this October is all about finding the perspective that truly clicks with you.

As the 3 of Wands forecasts success on the horizon, but not just yet, it’s obvious that this month is more about feeling the sense of upcoming success without fully seeing the rewards in the present moment.

The Hanged Man invites you to use this waiting period as a reflective, contemplative period where you can re-orient your thoughts and ideas. What truths would you like to unpack and pursue next?

The waiting may seem boring, but on the contrary, there are a variety of productive ways it can be used if you’re open to trying.

Pisces

Judgement & 3 of Cups (Reversed)

Pisces — think big picture. How do you see yourself leaving a mark on the world?

Judgement brings everything into full view. It’s time to connect your mind, your spirit, your inner callings, your understanding of the world… all of it. Your intuition and mind are clearer this month; suddenly, it’s more obvious where you need to be headed.

However, the 3 of Cups reversed could act as a distraction. While you’re busy reflecting upon your future, this card indicates that others around you may be engaging in gossip, petty behaviors, and asking for emotional labor from you.

Set clear boundaries this month as you focus on what you need to focus on.
