Element

Definition of Element

An element is one of the basic building blocks of the universe. There are four elements; fire, Earth, air, and water. We need all four to survive. In astrology, every sign of the zodiac belongs to one of these elements.

Signs of the same element usually get along, because they have the same basic tenets in their foundation. The fire elements are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The earth elements are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. The air elements are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. The water elements are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Each sign also belongs to a quadruplicity, which helps to determine each one’s basic character traits.

Sun Sign

Your Sun sign is the sign of the zodiac where the Sun was at the time you were born. In astrology, it makes up one-third of your primal triad. In your natal chart, the Sun represents your personality and countenance. This is why more importance is placed on it than on the other planets and features, and why your daily horoscope is written for your Sun sign. There are 12 signs of the zodiac, each one with its own attributes and qualities. Since the Sun is in a particular sign when you were born, your personality will reflect many of that sign's traits.
