Medium

Definition of Medium

A medium is a special kind of psychic, who can communicate with spirit and with the souls of those who no longer walk this earth.

Some mediums use tools, such as tarot or crystal balls or other means for them to focus on getting a message. Like psychics, some mediums may or may not have special skills like clairvoyance, clairaudience, or clairsentience. Other mediums go into a trance and let the spirit of the departed speak directly through them; these are often called trance mediums.

Some mediums use automatic writing and produce messages from other realms. Yet other mediums use psychometry and hold an object that belonged to a deceased person in order to form a connection with that person.

In addition to communicating with the departed, some mediums also use their talents to read a person's past, present and their future.
