Definition of New Moon
When the moon appears as just a sliver in the sky, this is called a “New Moon”. Earth’s Moon is always in motion. It spends approximately 28 days travelling through each of the Zodiac signs. As it does, depending on where it is in relation to the Sun on any given day, it carries a certain amount of light. During a New Moon, that amount of light is minimal.
The New Moon period of every month is an opportunity for new beginnings. During every New Moon period, focus on the new beginnings that you want to manifest in your life over the next 28 days.
TERM OF THE DAY
When the entire face of the moon is visible from Earth, opposite the sun and unobstructed from Earth's shadow, it is considered a full moon. A full moon occurs approximately every 29 days.Read the full Full Moon definition
