How to Reveal Your Hidden Karma Through Numerology

Posted on January 08, 2017

If you are studying numerology to gain more of an understanding of who you are and what you’re here in this life to achieve, a factor to examine is if you have any residual karma in your life. It’s called your hidden karmic debt.

When you accept that the soul incarnates many times to evolve and grow, then it’s easy to understand that every lifetime has its unique set of lessons and challenges.

You always have the gift of choice; nothing can take away your free will. In some lifetimes, it’s possible that you didn’t make the best decisions. The karma can carry over into future incarnations if it’s not dealt with in that incarnation.

Like your life path number, this takes a little bit of addition, but it’s not hard to calculate. To examine any karmic debt that you may have brought into this lifetime with you, you first have to go back to your date of birth.

For example, if you were born on July 4th, 1961, then you’d add up the year (1 + 9 + 6 + 1) to get 17. Reduce that to a single digit by adding it together (1 + 7 = 8), then add the month (7) and the day (4); 8 + 7 + 4 = 19. If you were working out your life path number, you’d add that together to get 10, or 1, but in this instance, we’re looking for the karmic debt numbers, and they’re double digits.

The numbers that indicate you brought some karmic debt into this lifetime are 13, 14, 16, and 19. These can be found in your life path number and in the way that your name converts into numbers.

Your name will provide you with your heart’s desire numbers, your personality number, and your expression number, and any one of these can also be a karmic debt number, too. Where your karmic debt number falls (and it can be in more than one place) has as much value as its meaning.

The interpretation of the different markers is important when working with numerology and your hidden karmic debt. It can get a bit complicated because these numbers will behave slightly differently if they fall in a life path position rather than in a heart’s desire position or a birth number, for example. However, the overall energy of these numbers will remain unchanged.

Number 13

A karmic debt number 13 is going to manifest itself as a streak of laziness. In the past, you rode on the success of others, and this is the lifetime where you need to break that cycle! Find your own success through motivation and determination.

Don’t take shortcuts when things start to frustrate you; you’re here to learn how to dig in deeper to your own talents, rather than relying on someone else to turn things around. Make sure you don’t turn into a workaholic while doing so.

Number 14

There’s a power play involved with this karmic number. You may find it hard to take control of your own life, or you may even find yourself too controlling of other people. Something from your past, either in this lifetime or others, threatened your sense of freedom and individuality.

You’ve now got the task of finding balance again. Make sure you’re not compromising the independence of other people by asserting your own free will and following your aspirations. You need to find a compromise with the freedom of your loved ones, too.

Number 16

If this is your karmic number, then you’ve got some ego issues. Your lesson in this lifetime is to continually sacrifice yourself and rise again, like the proverbial phoenix. Every fall will teach you something new, something that your soul agreed to learn this time around.

In the past, you may have held a position of authority. You’ll need to learn how to let go of the grandness of that, in lieu of something less recognized, but more rewarding.

Number 19

The last of the karmic numbers, it indicates that in the past you had some talent or skill that you used for your own personal gain. In itself, this isn’t a bad thing, but you seem to have shut others out, those whom you could have helped.

Your soul’s lesson for this lifetime is to learn how to help others and to learn to accept help from people. Don’t let your independent nature and your pride be your downfall.

These karmic numbers aren’t the only way that your past catches up with you when examining the numbers in your life. It’s worth taking a look at how numerology and your hidden karmic debt can manifest themselves in other ways.

For example, there’s a lot you can learn through numerology and your past lives. You can develop an understanding of the traits, talents, qualities and quirks you brought into this lifetime with you.

Like astrology, numerology is intrinsically connected to you. Studying it can help you not only understand who you are, but it can also provide insight into your destiny and your place in this ever-changing world.

Hi! I’m Charla Stone and I learned astrology and mysticism way back in the 1970s. I've spent the last four decades using the stars, tarot, runes, crystals, totems, and more to bring light and guidance to others. I’m just an old hippie at heart who has traveled the world to learn of its cultures. I’ve been published online and in print—which still rather surprises me, as this isn’t something I do, it’s just who I am! When I’m not writing or doing readings, I’m spending time in my garden or the art studio, or with my beloved dogs.
