If you are studying numerology to gain more of an understanding of who you are and what you’re here in this life to achieve, a factor to examine is if you have any residual karma in your life. It’s called your hidden karmic debt.
When you accept that the soul incarnates many times to evolve and grow, then it’s easy to understand that every lifetime has its unique set of lessons and challenges.

You always have the gift of choice; nothing can take away your free will. In some lifetimes, it’s possible that you didn’t make the best decisions. The karma can carry over into future incarnations if it’s not dealt with in that incarnation.
Like your life path number, this takes a little bit of addition, but it’s not hard to calculate. To examine any karmic debt that you may have brought into this lifetime with you, you first have to go back to your date of birth.
For example, if you were born on July 4th, 1961, then you’d add up the year (1 + 9 + 6 + 1) to get 17. Reduce that to a single digit by adding it together (1 + 7 = 8), then add the month (7) and the day (4); 8 + 7 + 4 = 19. If you were working out your life path number, you’d add that together to get 10, or 1, but in this instance, we’re looking for the karmic debt numbers, and they’re double digits.
The numbers that indicate you brought some karmic debt into this lifetime are 13, 14, 16, and 19. These can be found in your life path number and in the way that your name converts into numbers.
Your name will provide you with your heart’s desire numbers, your personality number, and your expression number, and any one of these can also be a karmic debt number, too. Where your karmic debt number falls (and it can be in more than one place) has as much value as its meaning.
The interpretation of the different markers is important when working with numerology and your hidden karmic debt. It can get a bit complicated because these numbers will behave slightly differently if they fall in a life path position rather than in a heart’s desire position or a birth number, for example. However, the overall energy of these numbers will remain unchanged.

These karmic numbers aren’t the only way that your past catches up with you when examining the numbers in your life. It’s worth taking a look at how numerology and your hidden karmic debt can manifest themselves in other ways.
For example, there’s a lot you can learn through numerology and your past lives. You can develop an understanding of the traits, talents, qualities and quirks you brought into this lifetime with you.
Like astrology, numerology is intrinsically connected to you. Studying it can help you not only understand who you are, but it can also provide insight into your destiny and your place in this ever-changing world.
