When you ask someone who the biggest stars in the world at this moment are, you’re probably going to hear most people give the same answers: Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.
One started out in the country and has turned pop, and the other started out in R&B and has recently turned country; these two are not afraid to break the rules and create their own!
But what in their astrology reflects this and shares who they are behind the star power? Let’s dive in!
Beyoncé is a Hard-Working Virgo Sun & Passionate Scorpio Moon
Beyoncé was born with the Sun in practical, hard-working Virgo, and this is a sign of work and details. Beyoncé probably wouldn’t enjoy life if she weren’t working so much all the time, and hey, it’s paid off!
Her Virgo Sun also makes sense since she’s apparently more subdued than her stage personas would have you think, and the Sun is your true self, the you that comes out when you’re comfortable and at ease, and Virgo is the quiet type.
Beyoncé’s Moon is in passionate, intense Scorpio, and the natural ruling planet for this sign is Pluto, the planet of transformation. Her Scorpio Moon is also conjunct her natal Uranus, the planet of change and the future.
This shows Beyoncé is comfortable with shaking up the status quo and going against the norm. She has an innate understanding of how she can transform the world for the better and knows her own power.
Her Moon also really explains her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. The name alone is incredibly Scorpio + Uranus, ha! But her Moon shows her ability to switch this character on and step into the power that is actually her own, even if she doesn’t consciously know it (since the Moon can be subconscious).
Taylor Swift is a Bold Sagittarius Sun &Nurturing Cancer Moon
Taylor Swift was born with the Sun in the Archer, Sagittarius, a feisty Fire sign and adaptable Mutable sign. Sagittarius is the sign of adventure and new experiences and is bold and brave – pretty fitting for someone who has made some bold moves in her career.
The natural ruling planet for Sagittarius is Jupiter, the planet of luck, so luck has been on Ms. Swift’s side all along.
Her Moon is also most likely in Cancer unless she was born really early in the day (before 3 AM, that would make her a Gemini Moon, but I think the Cancer Moon makes sense). In which case, her Moon is also conjunct, or aligned with, her Cancer Jupiter—lucky, indeed!
This makes her an emotionally optimistic person and one who is a natural nurturer. This conjunction also explains her close connection with her family since Cancer rules the family.
Beyoncé & Taylor Swift BOTH Have Singleton Suns
One very interesting connection these two queens have is that they BOTH have singleton Suns. What does that mean?
A planet is called a singleton when it’s the only planet in an element, quality, or house type. The zodiac signs are divided up between four different elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, as well as between three different qualities: Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable.
Beyoncé’s Virgo Sun is her only Earth sign planet, while Taylor Swift’s natal Sagittarius Sun is TWICE a singleton as both her only Fire sign and Mutable sign planet. It’s no wonder these two have such a big following!
Singleton Sun people have a strong sense of self, tend to be pretty dynamic individuals, and they stick out. They were not meant to fade into the shadows, nor were Beyoncé and Taylor.
Beyoncé Has Strong Connections – But They Can Be a Crutch
Beyoncé has Venus at home in Libra, and it’s forming a beneficial sextile to Mars in Leo, meaning her Venus and Mars are working well with one another. This gives greater ease for forming and maintaining connections.
Her Venus is extra strong, though, as it’s a part of a Libra stellium, with her natal Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all in Libra. A stellium occurs when three or more planets are together in one zodiac sign, which is concentrated energy.
In Libra, it shows that her relationships, alliances, and partnerships are to her benefit in a big way. Unsurprisingly, she first became a star in the group Destiny’s Child.
Beyoncé, both in Destiny’s Child and on her own, has also pushed strong feminine energy, almost goddess-like, which is very Libra.
But, her North Node is in Cancer, and all of that Libra is square her nodes. The North Node is a part of the Lunar Nodes, which are the points in the Moon’s orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic. The North Node represents our potential, our purpose, and what we need to grow into, though it’s unfamiliar and uncomfortable, so we tend to shy away from it when young.
Squares are challenging aspects, putting the bodies three zodiac signs apart, and squares to the Lunar Nodes are blocks to your potential and purpose. Beyoncé may rely too much on her connections, especially when she’s insecure, uncertain, confused, or emotional.
Her Cancer North Node wants her to be more self-nurturing and self-supporting emotionally. Her Libra energy may push her to get that externally, though, when she should look internally for that.
Her nodes are also a bit challenged since they are at the anaretic degree. There are thirty degrees in every zodiac sign, and 29 degrees is the last degree, called the anaretic degree. In the natal chart, bodies at the anaretic degree tend to either get played up too much or ignored.
If she’s using this Cancer and Libra energy correctly, she’s likely the one who offers support to others emotionally, and is the one making sure everyone is taken care of.
Striking out on her own away from Destiny’s Child seems like it was the right call with her planets, and while her Sun seeks the spotlight, she may eventually find her ultimate happiness isn’t found in her career.
Taylor Swift is Meant to Focus on Relationships – But Also Experience Trials
Taylor Swift’s natal Venus is in Aquarius, the sign of friendships, so it’s no surprise that she devotes so much attention to her friend group with the planet of relationships in this sign. Her Venus falls in her natal North Node sign.
Remember that the North Node represents our potential, our purpose, and what we need to grow into. Though it’s unfamiliar and uncomfortable, we tend to shy away from it when we are young.
Taylor has written so many songs about her romantic relationships – well, Venus on the North Node wants that! She’s meant to focus on her connections.
Not only that, but her Venus is a singleton as her only Air sign planet, so her Venus is extra strong, too. Her relationships feed and fuel her, and this is a good thing.
But she also has Mars in Scorpio, which puts her Venus and Mars square one another. Her Mars is also strong as it’s conjunct her natal Pluto, the natural ruler of Scorpio.
Her Mars and Pluto are also square her Lunar Nodes, and recall squares to the Lunar Nodes are considered blocks to properly manifest your nodal potential.
So, the hard Venus-Mars shows lots of passion for her in her relationships, but it may be difficult to control, or it may be one-sided, or it may be imagined. There’s extra frustration in her connections, and there can be issues with balancing both her masculine and feminine energy, governed by Mars and Venus.
Mars and Pluto square the nodes show this is a block for her. Mars tends to dominate Venus, and given how strong it is with Pluto, she may lean too hard into this Mars energy at times.
Mars and Pluto in Scorpio can show someone who has difficulty with letting go or with giving proper distance. Her Venus and North Node in Aquarius is pretty distant, yet Mars-Pluto is unrelenting intensity. She needs to learn to stay out of Scorpio drama and rise to unbothered Aquarius.
Uranus & Pluto Are Bringing Out Beyoncé’s Power of Transformation
It’s safe to say that some people didn’t take Beyoncé’s release of a country album well. It definitely came as a surprise, but not as far as the planets are concerned since transit Pluto has been opposing her Mars and she’s under her Uranus opposition.
Pluto opposite Mars can make someone extra willful, strong, and powerful. This really connects with her natal Scorpio Moon and has pushed her to push boundaries, to push limits, and to do so in a way that challenges everyone at the core.
Meanwhile, transit Uranus has been opposing her natal Uranus, which is a generational aspect that everyone experiences around the same age. Uranus is change, the unconventional, and the future, so the Uranus opposition is all about forcing us to make changes that propel us into the future, our next phase in adulthood.
For Beyoncé, this isn’t just in a personal way; it also applies to what she shares with the world since her Moon is conjunct Uranus, and the Moon connects with the public eye. This opposition triggers that energy and she’s brought out more of the Scorpio-Uranus inside of her—and all of us.
Pluto is Transforming Taylor’s Love Life
Transit, or moving, Pluto in Aquarius has been conjunct Taylor’s natal Venus in Aquarius, and that’ll continue in 2025. No surprise then that she’s been in a high-profile relationship with football star Travis Kelce!
This was a departure for her from her last relationship, which lasted but was largely kept out of the public eye. Transit Pluto came along and changed that up with her next big relationship with Kelce.
It’s definitely serious since Pluto does NOT do superficial, and it’s likely feeding her Scorpio Mars and Pluto energy. Hopefully, she’s balancing that out in this connection.
Transit Uranus is square her natal Mars, though, so she might be undergoing a shift in perspective and outlook and has a more serious attitude than usual.
These Two Were Meant to Connect on the Big Stage
When one person’s Jupiter aligns with a planet of another person, there’s usually genuine affection for one another. When one person’s planets are in the same sign as the North Node of another person, they’re usually meant to connect somehow.
Taylor’s Jupiter and Moon in Cancer go along with Beyoncé’s North Node in Cancer. These two seem to genuinely like each other and were meant to be in each other’s orbit.
They’re both singleton Suns, so they have an understanding of each other’s bright light as well; they both have Water sign Moons, so their emotional selves are similar; they both have a stellium, so they’re both laser-focused; and their relationships are big factors in their lives, though with slightly different lessons for each of them.
We’ve watched them evolve for years, and that will continue!
