The North node occurs in our birth chart directly opposite of our south node. It is determined at the time of birth by the exact position of the Sun, Moon, and Earth. Together, these two nodes form the Nodal Axis.
The north node represents what someone’s soul came to learn in a lifetime that will bring them out of their comfort zone (their South node). This also comes in the form of what experiences we must seek out in life, or will be faced with in order to grow and evolve into our truest self.
This astrological placement is a secret to living your best most meaningful life, which is why it is sometimes also called the true node. The nodes also relate to karma and the balance we find within our karmic axis.
How we determine what purpose our North node predicts for us we much look at its location/context within our chart. For example, A Taurus North node means that you’re purpose is to relax, take things slow, and lean into the finer things in life. A north node in the 5th house will push you to express yourself openly and creatively.
When we understand our North node, we can begin to understand our astrological destiny. This key player in our birth chart can reveal the struggles and triumphs that we will see in our lifetimes.Â
