7 Ways to Reduce Holiday Stress with Chakra Healing

When it comes to the holidays what is the first word that comes to your mind? Stress is the first word that comes to a lot of our minds. This is what happens when our plate is overfilled with obligations that are all spiritual, mental, financial, and emotional.

Money is one of the biggest reasons people are stressed over the holidays, but the sad truth is, that’s not the only thing people get stressed about. Past issues are going to come up even more with Mercury retrograde. Today we are talking about how every zodiac sign can beat that stress so you can enjoy this time, no matter what your situation is.

Are you just waiting for the holidays to be over? It doesn’t have to be that way. When you are in tune with your mind, body, and soul; the holidays are joyous, no matter what your position in life. Here are 7 ways to start doing that right now.

1. Change the Channel on Your Fears

I like to use the acronym “False Evidence Appearing Real” for the word fear. Most of the things you’re stressing or worrying over right now have nothing to do with reality. You’re worried about what might happen, not responding to what’s actually happened. Your fears are false thoughts that only appear real to you, but don’t knock yourself for it because we all do it.

It’s called being human. Learning to say no to these false fears is how you begin to find peace from within. Think of your fear as a movie that’s disturbing, or a news story that really bothers you. You may have made the choice “I can’t see this anymore, it bothers me too much!” You then changed the channel and it all went away.

The same thing happens with your fear. Choose not to engage with those false thoughts that are consuming you. You have to actually choose this. It’s a conscious choice that starts from within. You will find when you change the channel on your fears, the stress goes away.

Pick up your ‘soul remote’ and click to something else when your fears crop up. This is easier for mutable signs who are so flexible, and harder for fixed signs like Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, and Leo. You have to make this conscious choice.

2. Loneliness is a State of Mind

Loneliness is one of the biggest sources of holiday stress. We feel lonely and so our holidays seem to suck. Have you ever had one of those moments where it feels like you are in a room full of people, but feel all alone? We all have. There is your proof that loneliness is a state of mind and not an actual state of being.

It’s easy to feel alone over the holidays when we are inundated with happy holiday movies, commercials that show love and joy and rooms full of happy people. If you are feeling lonely, undo that by being completely present at social gatherings this time of year. Sometimes our loneliness consumes us and we aren’t “really there” when we attend these events.

A good way to do that is by doing charity work this time of year. A few hours in the soup kitchen will change your entire perspective on your feelings of loneliness.

3. Thoughts become Things

Often you feel stress, especially holiday stress because you are concentrating too much on it. Ever had a problem that never seemed to go away? It doesn’t go away because we won’t let it. This is the Law of Attraction working against you. When you focus and obsess on the issue, everything else around us seems a blur.

You are unfocused and not present with interactions with other people and you don’t fully experience your life. You can’t enjoy life or the holidays when all you can think about are your problems. It’s similar to changing the channel on your fears, but you are tuning into the positive instead of fixating on the negative. It sounds so cliché but it actually works.

Focus on the positive. If this is a real struggle for you, make a list every day of the good things that happened that day. You can also just write one thing down. Force yourself to really focus on the positive. Thoughts become things. If they are all negative, well then, guess what you are going to attract.

4. Feel the Love Tonight

We say it all the time: love is what makes the world go around. It really is true and the fundamental law of the universe is unconditional love. During the holidays, when you have a million things to do, remembering that the love is enough can be difficult. Most of your busy work right now you’re doing for the people you love. Stay in that flow. Lead with love.

The Sun is in Sagittarius now, and we should all be feeling a little more free with the glow of love. Let that light shine on you, and that will grow. Love as much and as deeply as you can, in ways that don’t cost you a penny. Although you may feel all alone in the world, there is always someone to love, even if it’s your cat!

Start with someone or something small, and you will find the heart opens steadily and your love is unstoppable. Stress? What’s that? You are too busy loving to even notice you ever felt it and your tension melts away.

5. Put it in Writing

Have you ever been to one of those holiday family dinners where most people didn’t say much because they want to get in a fight with someone? An awkward and stressful aspect of the holidays is that you may hold in your true words. Although this is the time of year when you should be expressing love and gratitude for those near and dear, sometimes you don’t and you hold it in.

Mercury is retrograde right now and through most of the holiday season, and you may have a lot of past stuff coming up. Let it out, let it all out. When you hold in emotions, words, and actions; it has a negative effect on you. You have to get out your thoughts in some healthy way, or it’s going to come out at a time and in some way that’s usually not pretty.

Try putting your thoughts in writing. Get as upset at whatever, or whoever you want. Let it all out and rant away to your computer or a piece of paper.

6. Visualize your Happy Place

Visualization is one of the single most powerful things you can do to manifest abundance, increase your success, and simply feel better! Who doesn’t feel a little boost after staring out the office window on occasion and picturing yourself on a beach with your favorite person and your favorite cocktail?

It’s really hard to focus on your problems when you are focusing on something happy and it doesn’t have to be real. Focus on your wildest George Clooney dreams if you want and allow yourself to escape. Visualization beats holiday stress in a second! Meditation, or lying down with your eyes closed and day dreaming for a little bit is an effective way to beat holiday stress.

7. Clear your Head

Has anyone ever told you to clear your head when you are dealing with stress? There’s a lot of truth and power to this wisdom. When you clear your head, you don’t just beat stress. You will connect immediately with the source of all good things in life and with the divine. It creates a two-way street for blessings to flow. When this connection happens, you instantly feel less stress during the holidays and any time of year.
