2020 has been a powerhouse of retrogrades, intense Full Moons and, well, just intense stuff in general (and that’s putting it lightly). This September, we have another significant planetary event to look forward to - the Fall Equinox.

When the Fall Equinox occurs, there is an equal amount of day and night. That is exactly what the word “equinox” means. Equi= equal; nox = night.

On the days that follow, there are just a few minutes less of daylight, with darkness increasing with every passing day until the Winter Solstice occurs.

2020 has undoubtedly been a time of many up-and-down emotions, and challenges have been presented to us on an individual and collective level. This is also a powerfully karmic year for us, and you may have noticed that issues from the past have crept up on you one way or another, whether it’s forcing you to confront issues within yourself or reaping back what you have sown.

Of course we can’t forget that those in the Southern Hemisphere are in Spring Equinox. Don’t worry, we see you! The following information and energy can be applicable to you as well if you channel it correctly.

When is Fall Equinox?

Every calendar year there are four seasons, and each season carries on a special spiritual meaning. In astrology, each Cardinal sign launches a season. Those are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.

Fall is about realizing what needs to literally fall from our lives, and what is strong enough to remain. Fall is launched by Libra. As this has been a truly transformative year, we may find it easier than usual to know what needs letting go of and what needs to stay in our lives.

Opening up to the Autumnal Equinox

The experiences and events we had during the Spring Equinox have proven to be a time of great change. Extremity on all ends of the spectrum have been at the forefront of our lives and finding a middle ground has been difficult, if not impossible.

This is why the appearance of Libra during the Fall Equinox is so important.

Libra is the sign of balance and harmony, truth and justice. In this Cardinal sign of leadership, we are all called upon to be a leader in our own way. We can take our experiences in the first part of the year and find our way towards compromise and harmony. We can take the negative and positive aspects and find balance in our lives.

This balance will prepare us for the journey through Scorpio starting October 23rd. Scorpio holds the energy of rebirth and transformation.

When the Sun transits through the sign of Scorpio, you will feel called to finally make the changes necessary. Your inner power will be calling for change and you will release what no longer serves your personal and spiritual growth. With your eyes open and soul cleared, the transformation begins.
