Need a Restful Sleep? These Crystals Can Help

Posted on March 16, 2018

Is there anything more frustrating than taking a hot bath, sipping on a cup of chamomile tea, slipping into your most comfortable pajamas and laying down in bed only to toss and turn, begging for sleep? Your eyes are closed, but your mind won’t shut off. Your bed is comfortable, but your body won’t relax.

Trying to get through the day after a night of poor sleep can feel impossible; it’s hard to concentrate, your mind is cloudy and you feel sleepy on top of all of that! A bad night’s sleep can leave you feeling cranky and less connected to the world around you.

From time to time, life throws us curve balls that disrupt our schedule, which might result in a night or two of missed sleep; however, it is extremely important to try to iron out a solid sleep schedule for yourself, to empower yourself and promote your spiritual growth and evolution.

“Sleep is the best meditation”- Dalai Lama

How do you remedy your sleepless nights? Some people turn to supplements like melatonin or antihistamines. While these can be effective momentarily, they actually hinder your sleeping schedule in the long run, making it more difficult to fall asleep without the assistance of medication.

For this reason and many others, I recommend a more natural, soothing approach to drifting off into a delicious dreamland.

Certain activities, such as exercise and hard work, can prepare our bodies for a sound night of snoozing and should be practiced daily in addition to the other natural remedies that can promote sleep. Relaxing scents, such as lavender, can also soothe the soul and relax the body.

There is one tool, however, that can vastly improve your sleeping patterns with little-to-no work involved, a very inexpensive investment and just a little bit of faith.

Crystals are ancient and given to us by the heavens to help us navigate this crazy existence; crystals can heal the mind, the body and the soul. Their energy has resonated for hundreds, thousands, even millions of years and they wait patiently in the earth for us to discover and use them on our journey through life.

Crystals can help us relax or raise our energy, they can assist us in talking about our feelings or knowing when to keep quiet, crystals can show us our path in life and lead us toward our future. Certain crystals and gemstones are incredibly useful when it comes to promoting sleep.

By placing these crystals next to you on your bedside table, or slipping them under your pillow, even infusing your water with their essence can help you soak in their sleepy energies and dive into a dream state.

Let’s take a look at the best crystals to use for promoting peaceful, restful sleep.

Quartz Crystal

Quartz crystals are beautiful, clear and shine like diamonds. This stone helps guide your dreams, providing comfort and peace during your dreaming state of sleep. It can bring focus and power to your dreams, putting their fate in your hands. Quartz crystal also enhances the energy of other crystals around it, empowering them and giving them a charge.

Place quartz crystal near your other stones for sleep and allow its magnifying presence to super-charge your stones.

Amethyst

Amethyst helps cleanse and soothe the energy around you, or your aura. It is associated with the crown chakra, which works to open up and connect you with your spiritual energy and guides. The energy of amethyst will encourage lucid and spiritual dreaming, but this energy can disturb restful sleep.

If your nightmares are keeping you up at night, this stone might prove useful for assisting in calming dreams, but if your dreams are not the problem, this stone can actually energize your third eye and crown chakra too heavily, keeping you up.

Angelite

Angelite is a stone that assists in aligning your spirit with your fate, surrendering to what is meant to be - including deep sleep. Angelite is closely related to the angelic realm and brings your spirit closer as well.

Selenite

Selenite is an excellent crystal for helping you against your battle with insomnia. It covers your body and aura with a protective energy that relaxes your cells. It works to actively cleanse your energy while you sleep so you wake up feeling rejuvenated and inspired.

Black Tourmaline

Black tourmaline helps cleanse any negative energy from your personal space. It’s extremely relaxing to the body, allowing your muscles to loosen and your body to relax.

While these crystals are extremely useful for helping promote a good night’s sleep, it is also important to remember that some crystals may disturb sleep and should never be kept in the same place you lay your head to rest.

It can be tempting to fill your room to the brim with stones, especially after first discovering their magical nature; however, too many stones can cause erratic energy in the space in which they are held.

Stones associated with fire and sun, such as sunstone, may be too energizing to keep in the bedroom, causing restless legs and tosses on top of turns. As mentioned with amethyst, stones that are associated with the third eye or crown chakra may be too mentally stimulating to promote restful sleep. Too many crystals directly near your head may also disturb sleep.

“Sleep is an investment in the energy you need to be effective tomorrow.”- Tom Roth

It is important to get enough sleep to maintain your love and energy throughout the day; the world around you can feel it when you’re exhausted and you aren’t able to put your best foot forward when you’re exhausted. Proper diet and exercise is a must, but using these crystals will help you drift off when nothing else is working.
