Use Your Wardrobe to Balance Your Chakras

Posted on April 21, 2018

The balancing of our chakras is an important step in our mental health and energetic well being, but with all the things in life that keep us busy, it can be hard to find the time for many things like meditation and rituals.

At the end of a long work day, you want to unwind and relax rather than putting yourself to more work in the name of chakra alignment. However, your chakras play an important role in your motivation and energy. What if there was a way to tend to your chakras without spending your precious energy to do so?

Chakras respond to meditation and focus, but they also respond to simple things such as color. Even focusing on the color of a certain chakra can assist in aligning and balancing them. Simple steps and tools can help you maintain balance while requiring very little work or focus.

In fact, you can use your wardrobe to help maintain the alignment of your chakras. Read on to find out how.

The Root Chakra

The root chakra exists near the base of your spine and extends up nearly to the belly button. This chakra is responsible for your feelings of security in this world. When this chakra is out of alignment, you feel insecure and unstable. Try spicing up your wardrobe with a splash of red and focus on it throughout the day.

You don’t have to wear crimson head-to-toe, but a little accessory here and there will help draw your attention to the color red and allow its energy to flow through you.

The Sacral Chakra

The second chakra is the sacral chakra, which rests in your abdomen near the belly button. This chakra is associated with feelings of sexuality and lust, and when it is out of whack you might feel less sensual or desired. The color that represents this chakra is orange, and adding a bit of pumpkin spice to your closet will help you soak in its essence.

The Solar Plexus

This chakra resides in the belly and controls our levels of self-confidence. When this chakra isn’t balanced, we feel down and out - not so happy about ourselves. Yellow is the color representing this chakra, which makes sense because it is such a happy color. Adding a little bit of this bright hue to your closet will lift your spirits and brighten your mood.

The Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is located right near your heart and helps you give and receive love. Without the alignment of this chakra, you feel depleted, like you’re in a funk. This chakra is associated with the healing color green, and this calming hue will radiate near your heart, opening it up and allowing the love to flow.

Try a green bracelet or shirt that you can catch glances of throughout the day.

The Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is located near - you guessed it - the throat. This chakra helps you speak your truth and stay honest with yourself, and when it’s out of order, you might find it hard to stand up for yourself or talk openly with others. Fortunately, mellow blue is the color associated with the throat chakra, which is easy to wear.

Even a pair of blue jeans can help you meditate on the color of the throat chakra, healing and balancing it so you can speak honestly with others.

The Third Eye Chakra

The third eye chakra is located between and above the eyebrows on your forehead and controls your intuition and psychic awareness. When this chakra is misaligned, it can be difficult to listen to your gut, or trust your inner wisdom. The color representing the third eye chakra is indigo, a deep hue between blue and purple.

A rich colored indigo scarf or even a pair of flats can help you stay focused on this intuitive chakra.

The Crown Chakra

This is the final chakra of the main seven chakras in our body, and is located near the crown, or top, of your head. This is the chakra of consciousness, and it regulates your mental health, so when it is out of order, it’s hard to concentrate on anything.

A deep purple represents this chakra and fortunately, this is a flattering color on just about anyone. Try wearing an amethyst ring or necklace to focus your attention on, soothing the crown chakra and helping you maintain your concentration.

Conclusion

Balancing your chakras doesn’t have to be time-consuming or a drain on your energy. When you have the time to sit and meditate on your chakras, take the opportunity to do so. If you’d like to maintain internal balance amidst a busy schedule, incorporate your chakra work into your wardrobe to lessen the stress.

All it takes is a bit of focus and maybe even a trip to the thrift shop. Your chakras will thank you!
