Ways For Pisces to Update Their Living Spaces This Month

In this recurring monthly series, we’ll discuss ways for the zodiac signs to get inspired and make some changes around their most important spaces within the home. Regardless of budget or skill level, there are always small ways we can adapt our living spaces to bring about renewed inspiration, harmony, and energies to the places we occupy.

With Pisces season in full swing, let’s start with this dreamy, laidback zodiac sign. As one of the four Mutable signs, Pisces embraces change easily and frequently – they’ve probably already been contemplating ways they can spruce up their home. While Pisces doesn’t crave material belongings the way some other signs do, they are creative homebodies that value comfort and beauty, so investing in their living spaces makes sense to them.

Check out some of our tailored suggestions based on home living trends and see if you get inspired!

What’s In for Pisces?

  • Lavender

While millennial pink and lemon yellow would never have appealed to Pisces’ mellow aesthetic, there is a hot new trend that may be right up their alley – lavender. Surprisingly neutral with the right undertone, this soft purple is complementary to most décor schemes from sleek contemporary to shabby chic. Just stick with a shade that leans more towards grey than blue or pink, and keep the majority of other décor neutral to let this soothing color work its magic in your bedroom or living room.

  • Coordinated Planter

It’s in a Water sign’s nature to nurture, so we’ll assume you have a few plants placed around your home already. However, few of us take the time to assess our planters and decide if they actually add to our living space or merely serve a purpose. Pisces, now is your time to go find some that make your heart sing; they don’t necessarily have to match perfectly but should have an underlying theme that creates harmony throughout, like staying within a color spectrum or utilizing one material.

  • Bronze

Cool metals like chrome and steel usually appeal more to Water signs, given their similar nature to the reflection of water, but if you’re looking to update some fixtures or accent pieces, try utilizing bronze instead. Good bronze finishing should have a deep golden brown patina without verging into red, and it will instantly give your spaces an old-world charm that hearkens back to the Art Deco era. Bronze is also warmer and more inviting and creates a dreamy glamour that may appeal to Pisces’s sartorial eye.

What’s Out for Pisces?

  • Eclectic Clutter

While most Pisces have a quirky sense of style, sometimes they can overdo it; there is a fine line between ‘unconventional’ and ‘chaotic’ which can be hard to navigate. Look at your spaces – do your chachkis have a unifying theme or are they random? Did you try to create a photo wall and use half a dozen different frame styles? Are your books displayed nicely, or just stored haphazardly? A lack of focus and commonality amongst your belongings can often come across as messy instead of stylish.

  • Soft Lighting

Sometimes, Pisces can be a little too ‘go with the flow’ – it’s time to light a metaphorical fire and shine brightly in your living space. While you may like the inviting look that softer lighting gives to your home, it’s probably not the most motivating. With eco-friendly bulbs available in tints like ‘clear white’ and ‘sunlight’, brightening up your space may have a noticeable effect on your alertness and productivity, especially in spaces like home offices and living rooms – just keep it out of the bedroom!

  • Throw Pillows

Everybody loves a good throw pillow; however, in their quest for comfort, Pisces can go overboard on this accent feature. You may think your cozy little nest is inviting, but a pile of overstuffed cushions might actually deter guests from settling comfortably into a couch or chair. You don’t have to eliminate them entirely, just edit yourself a little – ensure the pillows you’re keeping are the ones in best condition with firm stuffing, that they complement your furnishings, and don’t overwhelm the space.

Now that you have some new design concepts and color inspirations, go forth and bring fresh energy into your home, Pisces!
