The strong but silent Sansa Stark? Poised but ruthless Cersei Lannister?

We don’t have long before we find out, but to get everyone in the mood, here is an article for you to discover what GoT character you are based on your Chinese Zodiac sign!

The Chinese Zodiac is an ancient form of astrology which pairs an individual with one of the twelve animals in Chinese Astrology based on the year they were born. These animals encompass all kinds of different traits, qualities and physical features which are congruent with their human counterpart. In Game of Thrones, some characters easily pair with a Chinese Zodiac sign. Read on to find out who you are in GoT based on your Zodiac sign!

Which Game of Thrones Character Are You, Based on Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?

Rat: Arya Stark

The gutsy youngest daughter of the Stark family is a typical Rat of the Chinese Zodiac. Shrewd, cunning and determined to get what she wants, Arya – like the Rat – will stop at nothing to reach her goals. Throughout the series, Arya is determined to take revenge for the grisly fate her family were subjected to. She goes to great lengths to acquire talents and skills to turn her ambition into reality. Just like her Rat counterpart, she keeps things close to her chest and is extremely calculated in her movements.

Ox: Tywin Lannister

The head of the formidable ‘Hear Me Roar’ family, Tywin Lannister, is very like the Ox of the Chinese Zodiac. Tywin can be ruthless in his ambitions, allowing nothing to stand in his way. Like the Ox, he takes very good care of his family and his kingdom – provided they do as he says. He can be merciless at times, but also generous with those close to him, rewarding loyalty and faithfulness in equal measure.

Tiger: Jaime Lannister

The swashbuckling son of Tywin Lannister, Jaime Lannister is a true Tiger of the Chinese Zodiac. Like the Tiger, he comes across as having an enormous ego, enjoying the attention both his supreme sword-fighting skills and good looks earn him. He can be truly terrifying to his enemies. But just like the Tiger, he possesses a soft, sensitive side, something that becomes apparent when he protects his brother, Tyrion, or befriends Brienne of Tarth. Jaime can sometimes rush headlong into situations without thinking, but as the series progresses and his ego melts away, it becomes clear that his heart is in the right place – a very Tiger-ish thing!

Rabbit: Brienne of Tarth

This may seem like an odd one to some people because Rabbits are typically refined, dainty and detest conflict. Brienne of Tarth, the ultimate warrior woman of the show, spends her entire life fighting, protecting others and can hardly be referred to as ‘dainty’. But this is because Brienne grew up in a society where she had to prove her strength as a fighter equal to men. Doing so was the only way she could achieve her true heart’s desire, a truly Rabbit quality: peace. Deep down, Brienne has a heart of gold and wants nothing more than harmony between all people; she is willing to fight to the death to get it, because this is the only way to achieve it. She may have the steel and nerve of a lion, but undoubtedly Brienne possesses a Rabbit’s soul.

Dragon: Daenerys Targaryen

Who else could possibly be a Dragon other than the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys? Like the Dragon, Daenerys is powerful, ambitious and possesses true leadership qualities. Her heart is kind and her goal is to rule the Seven Kingdoms so that her subjects may lead prosperous and happy lives. She can be unforgiving to her enemies, but is wholly dedicated and loyal to her friends. Like the Dragon, she can have quite a quirky sense of humour.

Snake: Margaery Tyrell

The most prominent member of the Tyrell family, Margaery encompasses typical Snake qualities of beauty, wisdom and intuition. Like the Snake, Margaery is a private person, keeping her thoughts close to her bosom and revealing very little of her intentions. She is analytical and intelligent, easing her way in slowly as opposed to jumping in headfirst. Her most Snake-like attribute is her ability to show love to her chosen betrothed while managing to control her surroundings in a way that is most beneficial to her and her loved ones.

Horse: Tyrion Lannister

The third member of the Lannister family in this article, Tyrion Lannister is party-loving, positive and generous. Like the Horse, Tyrion tends not to take life too seriously; however, similar to his Horse counterpart, he possesses an acutely intelligent mind which is able to analyze situations and manipulate them to his own benefit. There is an innate sensitivity inside Tyrion; despite his analytical and logical mind, when he has been wounded, he hurts deeply and for a long time.

Goat: Sansa Stark

The eldest daughter of the House of Stark, Sansa Stark is gentle, shy, mild-mannered and sympathetic, very Goat-like traits. Similar to the Goat, she is also kind-hearted and has a strong sense of justice. However, when she has been mistreated she can become ruthless like a true battering ram! This was made apparent by her attitude towards Ramsay Bolton just before he met his grisly fate. Sansa may be one of the most gentle characters of the series, but she displays remarkable strength when under threat and may be a dark horse contender for the Iron Throne.

Monkey: Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger)

Like the Monkey of the Chinese Zodiac, Peter Baelish aka Littlefinger displays a certain type of brilliance and intelligence that is rivaled only by Varys the Spider. Monkeys are extremely clever, creative and eloquent, very much like Littlefinger. They can be devious when it comes to getting what they want, preferring to work behind the scenes pulling the strings, rather than engaging in direct confrontation. Their agility at getting close to people is quite extraordinary, though sometimes they can become blinded by their ambition.

Rooster: Varys the Spider

The other clever-clogs of the Zodiac, Lord Varys is intelligent, confident and meticulous. Like the Rooster, he can be flamboyant, quick to express his opinion and particularly enjoys his put-downs towards rivals such as Littlefinger. Roosters are earnest and smart people, and Varys is no different. He uses his vast intelligence to assist others in their endeavours; however, like the Rooster, it is sometimes uncertain what his own personal goals are.

Dog: Jon Snow

Widely seen as the hero of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow is the typical Dog personality. Loyal, honest, frank and determined to do the right thing, Jon is another strong contender for the Iron Throne, though he is not motivated by power, but instead by doing what is right. Like his canine counterpart, Jon Snow is more interested in doing what is good for the whole of mankind, rather than his own personal interests. He can be stubborn at times in a typically Dog-like way, but it is this quality that urges him to do the right thing, even when it is difficult.

Pig: Podrick Payne

The squire of Tyrion Lannister, young Pod is the quintessential Pig personality. Kind-hearted and loyal to a fault, Pod would not hesitate to endanger his own life to save the life of his master. Like the Pig, he is chivalrous and gallant, something very much admired by the women! Though not typically the brightest animal of the bunch, the Pig – like Pod – is universally adored for its kindness and gentle character. The world would no doubt be a better place if there were more Pods in it!
