The zodiac refers to a series of astronomical placements — including the Sun, moon, stars, and planets — that make up a visible band in the sky. This band occurs on each side of the ecliptic, extending approximately 8 degrees on each side.
Each of the constellations of ZZdiac signs is approximately 30 degrees wide, for a total of 360 degrees (a complete circle). Hence, the Greek name zodiac translates to “circle of animals.” The bodies in the zodiac are constantly moving in transits, which lay the foundation of astrology.
