4 of Pentacles

4 of Pentacles

Meaning

The message from the 4 of Pentacles when it arrives in your day is that you are hanging onto something out of fear. There's nothing wrong with that. We all hang onto things for fear of losing them. This is not an action card, but a card of you pulling everything close to your vest in an effort to maintain control and stability. It often takes great discipline to do so, and so the theme of discipline is also present in your day when you see this card. When this card appears, the message is to have a look at your environment and what you are so afraid of losing. It may not be a bad idea to relax your way about life, as this card brings the message that you have nothing to worry about at all.

Symbolism

In the 4 of Pentacles, we see a man sitting down and holding onto 4 pentacles as if they are his last source of abundance. In a way, they are. This is a man that is fearful of loss. This could be a fear over losing a relationship, fear over losing status, fear over losing a job, or fear over losing money. The symbolism of this card shows the man tightly holding onto these things, worried that they are slowly going to be ungripped from his hands. When this card appears in your day, you are clinging to security for dear life. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes we need to keep things close to our chest for security reasons.
