About Virgo

As the Mutable Earth Sign, Virgo, you are a flexible one. You are also grounded in the truth, and are as real as the day is long. You don’t care for drama, in fact, you will retreat from it with Mercurial speed at the very sight of it. You are very practical, responsible, and down to Earth. And you will do anything for someone you love, even if that means dropping the biggest night of your life to help a friend or family member out with a flat tire. Your world and the people in it can definitely count on you!

The Virgo is not always the perfectionist that some unenlightened astrologers make them out to be. Virgos strive to be useful. You have an analytical mind, organizational skills, practicality, and honesty about yourself, but unless these skills are put to good use, you may feel lost.

Virgo is generally a courteous sign. However, Virgo tends to be more timid than some of the other signs, like Aries or Capricorn. The tendency is to avoid, rather than confront troubles, and when sensing danger, you fix yourself in a position close to the exit door, or otherwise out of harm’s way.

When in a bad mood, Virgos can be quite critical and pessimistic, and sometimes suffer from low self-esteem. This criticism is directed at the self more often than others. These dark moods usually result from expectations and goals set too high, which, more often than not, only sets the Virgo up for disappointment. When the dark mood eventually fades into the background, you may still have a hard time relaxing your face back into a smile. What most folks don’t realize is that you aren’t worrying so much as you are analysing in order to avoid making the decisions that got you down in the first place. A lot of people don’t realize how fussy you and your sign-mates are about your appearance. It’s really important to Virgos that their inner and outer selves match. You can always tell when a Virgo is not at their best, because he or she will look it.

Many Virgos are at the top of their profession because of their natural talent for making themselves indispensable. Virgos excel in professions where discipline is required, being especially good at jobs that meet human needs because of their drive to be useful to others. Virgo is capable and cool, but more often than not will take on more than the can manage. Pushing yourself beyond safe limits is often the cause of the nervous complaints some believe your sign to be prone to. When overwhelmed, Virgos have no problem using their acting ability (you’d be surprised how many famous show-business personalities are born into your sign). Virgos can manifest illness on cue when the opportunity to go somewhere or do something presents itself, but is not what Virgo wants to do or where Virgo wants to go. In the worst-case scenario, you may start to believe yourself and actually manifest an illness. The remedy, of course, is to realize that there are times when you need to say no, without worrying about how someone else may feel about it.

The Virgo tends to suffer from many romantic disappointments because of being one of the most misinterpreted signs of the Zodiac. You may often get compliments about how helpful or useful you are, but end up being left out of the fun. Some Virgos are the brunt of jokes coming from those who are jealous of their wealth of information, their put-together look, or their efficient and organized lifestyles. Usually this happens during the younger years, because most adult Virgos are private people who take their lives and their relationships seriously. Although Scorpio and Capricorn may be better at keeping secrets, Virgo is always trustworthy and reliable when it comes to keeping personal matters private. Virgo has very deep and loyal feelings, and is often willing to make major sacrifices for love.

Virgos care for the things they own and the things they are responsible for, and this includes the people they are involved with. Almost always ready with suggestions on any matter, the Virgo puts their partner’s worries on par with, and sometimes above, their own. Although Virgo does not naturally gravitate towards marriage, once committed, the Virgo takes up the duties of partnership very well. Virgo marriages are usually successful for the long term. A dutiful partner in business or love, you are as attentive and knowledgeable about lovemaking as you are about your career.

Low Profile Style

Virgo is one of the most low profile zodiac signs, and that’s because you have high standards and won’t settle for anything less than the best. This is the truth in your career and in your love life, and even in your circle of friends, which is small. You are symbolized by the Hermit in Tarot, and that’s because you can be one. If your partners or friends have any complaints, it is that you would rather stay in and watch Netflix or play video games than swim through a sea of drama at a social event. You are a natural homebody, and your grounded style shows it. That said, when you do go out into the world, you do so with the intent to conquer it. And you do every time!

Career

As an Earth Sign, Virgo, you are humble as the day is long, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t like money. You do. And you are very good at it, using it to meet the needs of the people that you love. But making money isn’t enough for you, you need to make a difference. For you, there’s no point in earning cash if you aren’t helping someone out while you do. As a Mutable Sign, you like your days to be very different, and if you can find that variety while helping others in the world, you consider yourself a success. Fields like teaching, charity work, or service oriented industries are great ones for you as a result. You’re always described as the “best hire ever” thanks to your superior work ethic, and your nature to work long hours without a single complaint.

Love & Relationships

When you enter a relationship, you are in it for the long haul, and you are the only Mutable Sign that can say that. This is due to your Earth bound nature, and your commitment to those that you love. You would rather walk on a bed of hot coals than let your partner down. You may be a little picky when it comes to love, and you definitely have high standards. So while it may take you a while to decide someone is The One, once you do, you are in it for life. Your relationships are always real as a result, and that’s why they usually stand the test of time.

Element: Earth

Astrology can reveal a lot, but there’s much more to it than what Sun sign you are. At the very heart of astrology — and of Tarot, palmistry, sacred geometry, even ceremonies and rituals— are the 4 elements. These are Fire, Earth, Water, and Air. If you think about it, we need these 4 elements — all of them — in order to survive on the planet. We heat and cook and purge with fire. We grow things in the Earth; it is the foundation of our existence, and we return to it when our life has ended. We need water to survive; it grows the plants of the earth and quenches our thirst; our bodies are approximately 60% water, and the Earth itself is approximately 70% water. We need air to breathe. Even our words are given life by our breath when we speak them out loud.

As you can see, the elements are very important indeed! If you were born a Taurus, a Virgo, or a Capricorn, then you were born an Earth sign. Of course, not all earth signs are going to behave the same. Even two Capricorns can be very different from each other, because of the way that the rest of their planets fall. Remember, the Sun sign is only one part of astrology! There’s so much more to discover.

See if you recognize yourself in these points.

  • Grounded and usually dependable
  • Practical and down to earth
  • Cautious
  • Creative
  • Drawn to material goods and creature comforts
  • Responsible, feel a strong sense of duty
  • Tend toward a conservative approach to life
  • Appreciate good food and pleasant surroundings
  • Logical and reasonable
  • May be too focused on your possessions
  • Sometimes forgetful of the feelings of others
  • Goal oriented, rather than enjoying the path to reaching that goal

The Quadruplicities

Even though all Earth signs are going to be very similar, there’s a lot of difference between them. This is because of the triplicities, or the qualities of those signs. Just like there are 4 elements Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, there are 3 triplicities. These are Cardinal, Mutable, and Fixed.

Here are the qualities of the Mutable quadruplicity, This quality is adaptable. It’s the ‘go along with the crowd’ energy of the zodiac. Perhaps you recognize yourself here?

  • You go along with the crowd
  • Aren’t particularly interested in leadership
  • Enjoy discussing new ideas
  • Aren’t particularly assertive or dominant
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Cautious about taking risks
  • Responsible and trustworthy

Earth Element: Virgo

If you were born under the sign of Virgo, you’re going to be devoted to your loved ones. You’re very observant, just make sure that this doesn’t turn into judgment or criticism. You were born seeking perfection, and one of the hardest lessons for you to learn is that no one is perfect. Learn to accept people (including yourself) the way they are, and love them that way, otherwise you could find yourself becoming very nitpicky and bitter.

You’re also the sort of person that means well, but may be taken the wrong way. People can mistake your advice for criticism, and your preciseness as eccentricity. This can make you withdrawn and reserved if you don’t go out of your way to make an extra effort to display warmth and compassion. You worry about things too much on the whole, and this can wreak havoc on your digestive system and your nerves.

You are also prone to overstretching yourself. This can add to your nervous disposition and your anxiety. You’re dependable and sincere, but others may not see that side of you if the judgmental side of you is too strong. You really don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, but they will often take you the wrong way and get hurt by your words or actions, anyway. You may even be a neat freak, and become short tempered when others don’t seem to respect your wishes. When people really get to know you though, they’re going to find someone who is warm, patient, and compassionate. You’re always the first to come the aid of your friends.

As much as you see the flaws of others, you may be a bit unaware of your own issues. It’s hard for you to see yourself as you really are, because you spend so much time analyzing everything and everyone including yourself. Public displays of affection and intimacy may just be too messy for you, but that doesn’t mean that you’re not devoted to your loved ones. You’re just not particularly demonstrative.

You enjoy helping others but you find it hard to ask for or accept assistance yourself. You are independent to a fault sometimes, and you don’t like to be indebted to others. You may not spend a lot on yourself, but you’ll indulge your loved ones and readily share what you have with those who have less than you do. Your feelings get hurt easily when others refuse what you have to offer them. Be careful you’re not judging and holding grudges when this happens.

Here’s a list of some of your more predominant qualities.

  • Devoted to your family and loved ones
  • Not one for being the center of attention
  • Observant and realistic
  • Independent, perfectionist
  • Responsible, reliable, and dependable
  • Honest and sincere
  • Readily helps others
  • Punctual
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • You’re responsible.
  • Good with facts and figures.

Of course, like anyone else, you do have aspects of your personality that need to be worked on.

  • You find it hard to ask for or accept assistance

The key to any Virgo’s success is to work harder to believe in themselves more and criticize others less. You often put yourself second, and you have to learn that in order to be the best child or spouse or parent or worker or neighbor or sibling or anything else that you can be, you first have to be the best you that you can be, and this can take some time.
